Describe how you work in a team with your partners.

I am a true team player because I am very supportive of all my teammates and coaches. On the court I lead by example through my dedication and perseverance. I create strong bonds with all my teammates and always encourage them to put forward their best effort. I make sure my teammates know they can rely on me for any type of support.

Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:
  • Provincial softball championship team MVP award (2019)
  • Selected Captain and Co-Captain Oakville Angels Softball team
  • Ontario Elite Softball Selection (2021-2022)

When I received these awards I felt very accomplished. It proved to me that all my hard work and dedication was paying off. When I was selected by my coach to represent my team as their captain, I felt a sense of duty and that my coach could rely on me to be a good leader on and off the field. When I made the Ontario Elite team I felt honoured to represent my province at various tournaments in the United States.

What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?

Outside of sports my primary interests are spending time with family and friends as well as working out and cooking. I enjoy being in the kitchen and experimenting with new recipes for my family. I enjoy working out as it makes me feel healthy and strong.

Who are your role models and why?

My role models are my parents and coaches. My parents are always encouraging me to achieve my goals by putting in the work and always giving my best effort. My coaches over the years have also been important role models to me because each of them taught me something and have continued to motivate me. My parents and coaches have told me to always believe in myself.

Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?
  • Softball; I’ve been playing softball for 8 years, it challenges me to physically become the best all round athlete.
  • Hockey; I played rep hockey for four years until I changed my focus to volleyball
  • At school I join as many different teams and clubs as possible. I’ve played field hockey, flag football, badminton, basketball and track and field. I like the competitiveness of playing a variety of sports because I can push myself athletically.

Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?

1. Honour Roll (2021)
2. Diligence In Learning (2020)
3. Physical Education Award (2019 and 2020)
4. French Scholastic Award (2020)
5. Athletic Council Elementary (2019 and 2020)

When I received these awards I felt a sense of pride in myself because I was juggling both sports and school work. I proved to myself that I could be successful in both if I work hard and stay focused on what is important to me.

What program would you like to attend in school?

Right now I am interested in entering into the health sciences field because I would like to become an athletic therapist. This is a job that interests me because it allows me to stay involved with sports.

How do you envision your school life in college/university?

I envision my school life in college/university to be very successful and memorable. I am excited to pursue my studies while having the opportunity to continue to play the sport that I am passionate about. I look forward to having new coaches, teammates and friends who share the same passion about volleyball as I do.
