Five words you can use to describe yourself off your field of play.

  • Creative
  • Confident
Describe how you work in a team.

I always encourage my teammates and try my best to never let them get down on themselves. It makes me happy to see my teammates confident in themselves and be the best player they can be. I like to get to know my teammates very well so I understand what they need and when they need it, which allows me to support them better and be a good friend and teammate.

I respect my teammates and coaches and listen to them. I value what they have to say, and I take criticism well and put in effort to work on what my coaches want me to.

Communication and kindness are two key aspects of teamwork that I find important. Giving yourself and others the opportunity to freely express feelings and opinions, without feeling the need to hold back on some suggestions, builds stronger bonds and allows for more respect for your teammates on and off the court.

Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:

-“Most Improved Player” award
– MVP nominee

When receiving these awards, I felt very proud of myself, knowing people see how I am as an athlete. It makes me happy knowing my hard work is paying off, and that others notice everything I’ve done to get to where I am.

What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?

Some of my interests outside of sports include arts, travel, or spending time with my close ones. I have always found interest in visual arts, which allows for me to express creativity. I also enjoy reading and writing because it gives me opportunities to visualize situations in my own way. I find happiness in travelling – I love exploring new areas and seeing what other places have to offer. I think it’s interesting to see how unique our world is. I also love spending time with my friends and family. I have many friends who I talk to daily, and I have a younger sister who I can talk to as well. I really enjoy being around my close ones and meeting new people.

Who are your role models and why?

My role models are my coaches and my parents. They always encourage me to be the best version of myself and be a confident player. They remind me what I am capable of and motivate me to be confident in myself and play my hardest.

Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?

Involvement in extracurriculars helps me to meet new people and improve my mental abilities. During the summer, I play pickleball for fun with my family. I also coach younger kids learning the basics of volleyball, which allows me to meet other coaches and help other people at the same time.

Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?

– Honour Roll Student (Grades 7-10)

Receiving recognition for being on the honour roll made me feel very proud of myself. The time I put into studying to achieve higher marks paid off, and I felt very accomplished.

What program would you like to attend in school?

I would like to pursue something in the engineering field. I’m still uncertain of which type of engineering specifically, but I’m leaning towards aerospace engineering.

How do you envision your school life in college/university?

In post-secondary, I hope to study engineering. I want to be the best student I can be while studying something I’ve always found interesting. I also envision myself being very busy, balancing both academics and athletics, while also enjoying my time and meeting new people.
